The shortest honest path from nothing to a downloaded report is four steps, and none of them can be skipped without costing you accuracy.

Where do I export my transaction history from?

From wherever your history already lives, in its raw transaction form rather than as a tax summary.

If you already use another tax tool, export your transactions from it, the Koinly, CoinLedger, CoinTracking and CoinTracker guides show exactly which export to use. Exchange statements from Coinbase, Kraken and Binance work directly, and so does any plain CSV, see supported formats.

How do I import it?

Open Import in the sidebar, choose the file, and read the preview before confirming.

The app tells you exactly what it read, how many rows the file held, and how many tax events they become, with the difference explained line by line. Rows and tax events are not the same thing, and the app never hides the arithmetic between them, that is the reconciliation habit explained in the reconciliation count. When the preview matches your expectation, confirm the add.

Why should I open Reconcile before Reports?

Because the engine queues its questions there rather than guessing behind your back.

If it wants your judgment on anything, a possible duplicate, a transfer without its partner, the question waits in Reconcile. Ten minutes there is usually the difference between a number you can defend and a number you hope is right.

How do I download the report?

Open Reports and take the documents you need.

Under 1,000 transactions everything is free, the capital gains summary, the working paper that shows each disposal with its matching rule and citation, and the rest of the report family. Above 1,000, downloads ask for a licence key from the pricing page, and everything you computed stays on screen either way.
